Welcome to Waterside
A modern purpose built apartment offering self catering accommodation right by the water’s edge with lovely views over Sovereign Harbour. It is wheelchair friendly and there is a lift. Offering a peaceful, sunny retreat, it is only a short walk from the beach and the Waterfront, with its shops, restaurants and quayside cafés. There really is something for everyone here.
Sovereign Harbour, constructed some 15 years ago is the largest composite yacht marina in Europe, and, particularly in the summer months, receives visitors from Sweden, Holland, France, and Spain. The marina facilities offered to our maritime visitors are absolutely excellent!
Eastbourne
Eastbourne nestles at the foot of the South Downs, which is an area of outstanding national beauty and has just been voted the best holiday destination in England by the English Tourist Board. We have our own microclimate - more sunlight hours than the rest of the South Coast, so there is plenty of opportunity to enjoy the outdoor life here. The scenery is truly lovely and the opportunities for walking range from a gentle stroll to a serious hike!
Eastbourne is a renowned seaside resort, with all the facilities that you would expect. There are three theatres with year round programmes of events, including pre- West End showings. Close to Waterside, just across the harbour is also a multiplex cinema. We are very proud of our new art gallery – the Towner, with it varied programme of exhibitions. We are an ideal location for Glyndebourne
Attractions
There are many attractions throughout the year including International Tennis tournament 2nd week in June, 1st weekend in August – Airborne! Our own free 4 day airshow – come and see the Red Arrows, September – International Speed days and the 1st Week in October – Eastbourne Beer festival.
Food and Drink
There are many excellent restaurants to suit every palette in Eastbourne town, including Belgian (50 ways to eat a mussel, 100 different beers), Turkish, French - and two Italian ice cream parlours! Plenty of “proper” country pubs in the area
The ferry port of Newhaven is just 20 minutes away – bring your passport and take a day trip to Dieppe.
